Our Story

We're not your typical suit-and-tie architecture firm. We're a bunch of design nerds who believe buildings should work with nature, not against it.

The Beginning
Started in a cramped office above a coffee shop on Granville Street - yeah, we were those architects. Three friends who'd worked at bigger firms got tired of seeing beautiful designs get watered down by committees. We wanted to do things differently, make spaces that actually mattered to people and the planet. The first year was rough, honestly. Living on instant ramen and client pitches, but we landed a small residential project that changed everything.

Finding Our Voice
This was when we really figured out who we were. Got our first LEED Platinum certification on a commercial building downtown, and suddenly people started calling us "the sustainable guys." We weren't just slapping solar panels on roofs - we were thinking about airflow, natural light, materials that wouldn't end up in landfills 20 years later. Won a few regional awards too, which helped us move into an actual proper studio space.

Growing the Team
Brought on five more talented folks who shared our vision. Each person brought something different - urban planning expertise, heritage restoration skills, interior design magic. We took on our first major urban development project, working with the city to reimagine a neglected industrial area. It was messy, political, and absolutely worth it. That project taught us how to navigate the bigger picture stuff while keeping our sustainable principles intact.

Pandemic Pivot
Like everyone, COVID hit us hard. But it also made us rethink what buildings need to be. We started designing with flexibility in mind - spaces that could adapt, breathe better, connect indoor and outdoor environments. Did a lot of heritage building restorations during this time, helping preserve Vancouver's architectural history while updating them for modern needs. Learned a ton about working with old bones and new ideas.

Today & Tomorrow
We're now a team of 18 passionate people, and honestly? We're just getting started. Working on some projects that'll push the boundaries of what sustainable architecture can be in urban environments. We've learned that the best buildings tell stories - about the people who use them, the neighborhoods they're in, and the future we're all building together. Still in Vancouver, still obsessed with making spaces that shine, and still refusing to compromise on doing things right.

What Drives Us

These aren't just words on our website - they're how we actually work every day.

🌱

Sustainability First

Every single project starts with one question: how can we make this better for the environment? Not as an afterthought, but baked right into the foundation of our design thinking. We're talking real, measurable impact.

🤝

Real Collaboration

We don't design at you - we design with you. Your building, your space, your vision. We just bring the technical know-how and creative solutions to make it happen. Plus, we actually listen, which apparently is rarer than it should be in this business.

💡

Innovation Without BS

We love new tech and creative solutions, but only if they actually work. No gimmicks, no trendy features that'll look dated in five years. Just smart, thoughtful design that solves real problems and stands the test of time.

🏙️

Community Minded

Buildings don't exist in a vacuum. They're part of neighborhoods, ecosystems, communities. We think about how our projects fit into the bigger picture, how they contribute to making cities better places to live, work, and just be human in.
